I’m a qualified Physiotherapist with a degree in Physiotherapy from University College Birmingham. I took the apprenticeship route into the profession, which meant I was studying while working on the frontline. Honestly, it was hard work, but also the best of both worlds: four years of practical, hands-on experience alongside my studies, which has really shaped the way I care for people today.
I’ve spent almost a decade working in the NHS, mainly as a physiotherapy assistant, where I supported some of the most vulnerable groups – particularly people living with dementia and severe mental illness. A lot of my work has centred around falls prevention and exercise promotion, often in complex inpatient settings. Alongside that, I spent three years in private healthcare, helping people in those crucial first stages of recovery after orthopaedic surgery. Between the two, I’ve had the privilege of seeing just how much physiotherapy can change lives in both acute and long-term care.
Clinically, I’m particularly interested in falls prevention, promoting physical activity, and supporting people with musculoskeletal conditions like low back pain, osteoarthritis, and tendinopathies. I also bring a slightly different angle to my practice thanks to my background in sports therapy and a Level 3 personal training qualification. That means I’ve got a solid foundation in strength and conditioning; and I love applying that knowledge whether I’m working with an older client trying to stay steady on their feet or an athlete looking to return to sport.
I’m a big believer in evidence-based practice – which, for me, means blending the latest research, best practice and experience with what actually matters to you. Your goals, your values, your lifestyle. Once I understand that, I can create a treatment plan that is tailored, individual and gets you results. Above all else, I think communication is key. I’ll always take the time to listen, understand your short- and long-term goals, and make sure you feel genuinely heard. Physiotherapy should feel like a partnership, and it works best when it’s personal.
Outside of work, I’m a toddler dad which keeps me on my toes! When I can, I enjoy lifting weights, running, or challenging myself with a bit of callisthenics. I’m also a bit of an exercise science nerd, so I like to read, listen to podcasts and generally keep up with new research.
